Every gal knows that as soon as you buy new makeup, you can't wait to get home and try them on. I'm no different. I bought a few things worn here that I couldn't wait to try on.
1) Highlighter by BECCA in the shade Opal: I absolutely love it. I feared it would have been too light and shimmery for my skin tone, but it gave my cheek the right amount of glow and shimmer. I felt like I was a professional makeup artist...Okay, that's pushing it, but you get the idea, It felt great.

2) Brow Wiz Pencil: Dark Brown by Anastasia Beverly Hills: Now, this was a 'hate it', then hate it some more, then I eventually gave up on it. I was a bit disappointed because everyone I knew raved about it. I thought, why not try it again, let's give it another shot. It was then that I realized the shade was off. It wasn't my color. This was a dark brown in color and I was used to wearing Cork by M.A.C. for 15 years. No wonder I hated it. Overall, it is a good product and even though it wasn't my desired shade, it filled in my brows beautifully. It grew on me. I did try another shade that more fits my style. It certainly will be in my next purchase. Hopefully I will fall in love with it.

3) IT Cosmetics Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara: Now that's a mouthful. I must admit, I've never heard of IT Cosmetics, I know, I know. I just haven't. I received a sample sized tube in my Ipsy monthly package. I was immediately sold. The lengthening is unreal. It doesn't clump or flake. It's smooth and easy to apply. The formula reminds me of 'they're Real' by Benefit Cosmetics. Now that was my go to product. It has serious competiton. I think I will play a game of eeny, meeny, miny, moe before I wear them! :)

4) Maybelline New York: Colossal Volum' Mascara: I bought this to add to my mascara collection (since I'm a mascara junkie), but to tell you the truth, I can't stop wearing it. It's best when paired with a lengthening mascara, you get an explosion of lashes. It definitely gives the impression as if I'm wearing false lashes. I love it. Need I say more?

There you have it, my current purchases. I bought some other makeup stuff, but I don't want to get carried away. Ha.
Until next time.
*Sigh* Before I start, let's have a word of silence for my hair....
My hair has been fried, dyed, bleached, cut, re-dyed, re-bleached all within 2 years. I went from being dark brown to having white hair in no time at all. I dyed my hair using a box dye, but I didn't get the desired look, so I did it few more times....I know! It still wasn't the light brown I wanted, so I stripped my hair - the process is removing the natural pigment from the hair follicles.
I achieved a beautiful honey blonde hair color. I love it for a while, but I got tired of it, so I dyed it back dark brown, only to change mind a few months later. I suddenly decided I wanted gray hair. As you know, to achieve this, you must bleach the hair to the whitest level. I had to mentally prepare for the hair drama. It was a long process. Everything was a success. I had minimal damage to the hair. I got my desired gray hair. I had the gray hair for almost a year, but I grew tired of it and I dyed it medium brown (shown). I'm amazed have still have healthy hair on my head. I should point out that I have no other chemicals in my hair. No relaxers, texturizer or perms. It was as *natural* as it could be.
My hair was a 3b/3c in curl pattern. However with the excessive processing my pattern changed. I became a 2b and straight in others. I had no idea bleach could have done this.
I recently cut and dyed my hair to start over. Not all the straights parts are gone, but most of it is. I have my natural hair back and I'm on my way to having healthier curls. So far so good.
Until next time,
My niece's beautiful September wedding!
On September 2nd, we were informed that the remnant of Hurricane Hermine was due to affect New York City on the 4th. Heavy downpour and flooding were expected. That was not only bad news for NY, but it was specially bad for my niece, she was getting married on the rooftop in Manhattan. We were all on pins and needles for the pending storm. We prayed for favor on this day. All storm projected path were directly forecasted for Manhattan. We were disappointed, but we never lost hope.
On Saturday we were informed of a new projected path. The storm could shift to the East of New York. That was some good news. On the day of the wedding, there was a miracle from the heavens, the Hurricane missed New York City completely. We were spared, we did not get the forecasted rain and we were thrilled for our girl. It turned into a beautiful day. It was warm and very sunny and the Bride got her dream wedding. And it was lovely!
Until next time.
Okay, it's obvious that I'm not a model, designer, nor am I a fashion icon, but for one short week in February, I like to think I'm one. New York Fashion Week is here! When I see all the beautiful designs, the lights, cameras, the style and the beautiful people, it puts me in a good mood. Okay, you will not see me walk a runway or grace the pages of a magazine anytime soon, but for these few weeks of New York, London, Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks, I feel like I'm there.
Until next time.
They say women don't look this everyday and they are right, we don't! But sometimes, we just get in the mood to try on some new makeup. In this case it was M.A.C,Cosmetic liquid lipstick. I loved it. So why stop there? Why not put on the entire face and go on the town to show it off? For tonight's look, I'm wearing 'Oh Lady' liquid lipstick by M.A.C. and I lined my lips with 'Nightingale', also my M.A.C., DIORSHOW BLACKOUT mascara by Dior. And NARS Orgasm on my cheeks. These are the highlight of my look!
The summer of 2015 was an especially fun time for me. For one, I dyed my hair reddish blonde. Something I wanted to do, but too afraid to be so bold. I received a lot of compliments daily and I was pleasantly surprised, Everyone said the color suited me, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Overall, I think it was fun. Conclusion? Blondes do have more fun, even though you're a reddish blonde. I'm not sure what to expect for summer 2016, but if my summer of 2016 is anything like 2015, I would gladly receive it. I have since dyed my hair darker for the colder months, but you never know, maybe you'll see a different color. All in all, it was good run. I was happy to be in the blonde family for a while.
Ah, Fall/Winter months are here. This is the time I mostly experiment with the color Black. It has always being my signature color.... I think matches my dark heart (I kid, I kid). I admire women in black, I love the sophistication of it. In the honor of these seasons, my favorite pieces are; hats, gloves, bold lipstick and of course, the color black. In my opinion, one can't go wrong with wearing black. I like to add a bold lipstick to add a little an appeal to any outfit. Little effort was needed to dress up this look.

As I got dressed for work, I noticed it began to rain. Just great, the last thing I needed was a rainy morning. Ladies, you know the rain is our hair's mortal enemy. We do everything to keep it from frizzing (hence the hat). I frowned upon the thought that I had to change my outfit to match the dull morning. Then suddenly a brilliant idea came to me, disguised as my favorite little Liquid Lipstick by Kat Von D (Bauhau5). Why do I have to match the day? Why not the opposite? As I began to apply the color to my lips, I remembered why never wear it to work. It was rather bold. Even though, it was tasteful, I felt strange about it. I immediately had flash backs of moments when women staring and gave me fake Compliments."You always look so glamorous at work" or, "You look like a movie star". I think what they were really saying is, "Do you think you should wear that color at the office?" Ha! I don't know, maybe they were just being nice. I quickly snapped out of that feeling. I felt good and I wanted to show it, so I finish applying the lipstick and walked out the door. Yeah, I feel awesome. Bring on the day. I will welcome those compliments. :)
My favorite Fall/Autumn makeup!

Where have you been all my life? Simply beautiful! I subscribed to a blogger that I watch quite often. I saw her apply a liquid lipgloss that dried into a matte finish. How can that be? I thought. I was stunned because I have never seen a gloss do that. I did some research (stalking if you will :-| ) and saw more women all over wearing them. I had to find out about this thing. After digging, I found that they are the latest trend in lipsticks.... Liquid LIPSTICK, yes, you read that right. How come I haven't heard of these before? Was I living under a rock? Most importantly, how can I get my hands on these little bad boys? What I love most about them is it stay on for long periods. I eat and drink throughout the day and it stays put for most of the day. I'm sold. In conclusion, these things are boss. I have one thing to say to Kat Von D..."Shut up and take my money". :)
